Tulane defeated Colorado 17-3 in the Liberty Bowl on December 12, 1970. Colorado entered the game as a 14-point underdog. The defense held Colorado to 175 yards and a single field goal.

Tulane beat LSU 14-0 on December 1, 1973. LSU had won the previous 25 games in the series. 86,598 fans packed into Tulane Stadium.

Tulane came from behind to beat Syracuse 26-24 in 1990. The team won seven games and the Aloha Bowl. John Flanery, Rob Moore and Terry Wooden were drafted by Houston, NY Jets and Seattle respectively.

Tulane beat No. 18 North Carolina 37-29 in 1971. Steve Barrios was a wide receiver on that team. He is a 2000 inductee into the Tulane Hall of Fame. Coleman Dupre was upset because Steve upstaged him.

Tulane beat Georgia 17-14 on September 19, 1970. The team had just lost to Texas Tech the week before. There was a bench-clearing brawl in the game. Ken Sanders made a crucial punter's kick late in a game for Tulane.

Tulane beat LSU 31-28 in 1982. The Tigers were guaranteed another Orange Bowl appearance. Reggie Reginelli's 31 yard swing pass won the game for Tulane. The team was loaded with NFL talent. Frank Monica was the running backs coach on Vince Gibson's Tulanese staff at the time.

It was 37 years ago this week that Tulane Football pulled off a huge upset in Baton Rouge thanks to Mike McKay’s fourth-down TD pass to Reggie Reginelli.

Tulane beat Miami 24-16 in 1965. Hurricane Betsy forced the season opener to be moved to Austin, Texas. Bobby Duhon was moved from safety to quarterback for Tulane against Texas and he threw two touchdown passes.

Tulane beat 13th-ranked Stanford 33-10 in the season opener on September 8, 1979. The Green Wave had a 9-3 record that year. Turk Shonert was injured in fourth quarter and was replaced by a true freshman.

Tulane beat Navy 14-6 in the Oyster Bowl in Norfolk, Va. The Midshipmen had beaten No. 14 Michigan 20-14 the week before.

Tulane beat Georgia 24-13 on September 23, 1972. The Green Wave were a 17-point underdog. They ended the season with a winning record at 6-5.
