2022-23 Big East Men’s Basketball Team Preview: Xavier Musketeers

Xavier Musketeers finished 21st in Big East. They lost seven of their final nine regular season games and then their Big E tournament debut. After that, they were a #2 seed in the NIT. Head coach Travis Steele was relieved of his duties and assistant Jonas Hayes took over. Sean Miller was named the new head coach. Xavier won the tournament.

Xavier Musketeers are returning four of their top six scorers and three of the top four. Jack Nunge was Xavier’s scoring leader last season. Colby Jones had a breakout year for Xavier last year. Zach Freemantle had foot surgery in October and missed the first six games. Adam Kunkel and Jerome Hunter played a lot of minutes for the team last time. Kyky Tandy is still recovering from a stress fracture in his leg. He played in just five games last term. He will be 11 months into his rehab process by the time the season starts.

Xavier Musketeers are preparing for the Big East basketball season. They have added two top 100 freshmen to their roster this fall. Kam Craft and Desmond Claude are both ranked in the top 50. They are point guards. Xavier won the conference last year. The team is preparing to play in this year's Big E. tournament.

Sean Miller is the head coach of Xavier Musketeers. He was first hired as XU's head Coach in 2004. In his first tenure with the Muskeets, he went 120-47. After that, Miller took the Arizona job, where he made the NCAA tournament in seven of the next eight seasons.
