Pre-tournament favorite and 2-time defending champ Viktor Hovland   (+400 before the opening round) is tied for 16th pace in the 20-man field at even par after rounds of 73-73-70. Hovland won last year at 16-under 272 after winning in 2021 at 18-under 270.

Justin Thomas (+1800): Golfweek’s No. 43 starts in 3rd place 5 shots back at 11-under after rounds of 70-67-68. He opened at +1400.

Collin Morikawa (+2800): He starts tied for 4th place 6 shots back at 10-under after rounds of 69-69-68. Golfweek’s No. 15 opened at +2800.
