Team World pulled off what proved to be a remarkable upset at the 2022 Laver Cup, winning for the first time in five tries against the vaunted Team Europe.

The 2023 Laver Cup represents something of a change for Team Europe as, in addition to Roger Federer's departure, neither Rafael Nadal nor Novak Djokovic will be taking part.

Team Europe (-150)

Despite not having any of the big three (Djokovic, Nadal, Federer), the Europeans aren't wanting for talent. None of the Top 3 players from the latest ATP rankings are represented at the Laver Cup, but Team Europe has the next three (Holger Rune, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Andrey Rublev) as well as Casper Ruud (9th). With four Top-10 players in the world, it stands to reason why Team Europe is considered the betting favorite heading into play.

If there is a weak link, it might be 37-year-old Gael Monfils, who only recently attempted a comeback in 2023 after sitting out much of 2022 due to injuries.

Team World (+110)

Team World faced an even steeper climb last year and managed to overcome them to win the Laver Cup for the first time. This was especially impressive considering the lopsided 14-1 loss in 2021. Still, they enter as underdogs with good reason, but that doesn't mean they can be overlooked.

Taylor Fritz is ranked No. 8 in the ATP standings and Frances Tiafoe, Tommy Paul, Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Ben Shelton are each ranked within the Top 20. Fritz, Tiafoe, and Shelton all reached the quarterfinals of the US Open — the most recent Grand Slam — with Shelton advancing to the semis. Only Rublev from Team Europe cracked the quarters.

The inaugural Laver Cup was held in 2017 in Prague. Named after tennis legend Rod Laver, the 2023 edition will mark the sixth time the event will be held (the 2020 Laver Cup was canceled due to the COVID pandemic).
