After one round at this year’s Wells Fargo Championship, veteran pro Tommy Fleetwood finds himself in pole position with the clearest shot at the $3.6 million winner’s prize.

Fleetwood fired an impressive bogey-free six-under 65 on Thursday to take a one-shot lead over a group of five players tied at five under. Among those chasers is World No. 5 Xander Schauffele. Rory McIlroy, who was the pre-tournament betting favorite, started strong with a three-under 68.
