2023 Wimbledon women's tennis odds: Elena Rybakina new betting favorite after No. 1 Iga Swiatek stunned in quarterfinals

Half of the women's quarterfinal singles action wrapped up at Wimbledon today, and there was one major upset. Unseeded wild card Elina Svitolina shocked No. 1 Iga Swiatek on Centre Court at the All England Club in three sets. The stunning result shifted the futures odds to win the tournament as Swiatek had been the clear favorite. Elena Rybakina is now a +175 leader on the Caesars Sportsbook odds board. Madison Keys, the lone American woman left standing, is the +1400 longshot.

The match was only Swiatek's third career loss at a Grand Slam since becoming the world No. 1 (30-3 record). She won this year's French Open and is the defending U.S. Open champ. The 28-year-old Svitolina, ranked 76th in the world, became the fifth wild card to reach a women's singles major semifinal in the Open Era and the first since Sabine Lisicki did so at Wimbledon in 2011.

Svitolina got to the quarterfinals with wins over Venus Williams (Round 1), Sofia Kenin (Round 2) and Victoria Azarenka (Round 3) and became only the third player in the Open Era to defeat four former women's singles Grand Slam champions in a single major. Serena Williams did it at the U.S. Open in 1999 and Justine Henin accomplished the feat at the French Open in 2005. Both went on to win the title.

Svitolina has 17 WTA titles in her career and one this year, but has never taken a major. She reached the 2019 Wimbledon semifinals but lost. She is yet to reach a Grand Slam final. Svitolina is +500 to win Wimbledon and a +105 underdog for Thursday's semifinal against Marketa Vondrousova (-125), a left-handed Czech player who reached the French Open final in 2019 and is +600 to win Wimbledon.

The other semifinal will be set after Thursday's two quarterfinal matches with the third-seeded Rybakina of Kazakhstan now the one to beat. She faces No. 6 Ons Jabeur in the quarters. Rybakina is -180 for that match with Jabeur at +150 and +500 to win the tournament.

The American Keys, seeded 25th, is a +160 underdog for her Thursday quarterfinal against No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus. Sabalenka is now the +250 second favorite to win the tournament. Keys has never reached the final at Wimbledon and has done so at just one Grand Slam event, the 2017 U.S. Open. Keys and Sabalenka have split two all-time WTA matches but have not played since meeting in Berlin in 2021.
