21-year-old fullback ignites try-of-the-season contender from inside 22

Waikato defeated Southland 54-24 in NPC match in Hamilton on Wednesday. 21-year-old Tepaea Cook-Savage set up a try-of-the-season contender for Taha Kemara. All Black Damian McKenzie set the ball up for two tries for Waikatos. Daniel Sinkinson scored a hat-trick for Southlands. Cook Savage played for Chiefs Under 20s in 2021. He also played in the national Under Under-20s team. The game was played at the Hamilton Rugby Stadium. It was held on the same ground as the Premiership match.
