22-23 Atlantic Preview: The Teams to Keep up with

The Bruins are preparing for the upcoming season. They will have to keep up with the teams that they are familiar with.

Matthew Tkachuk, Colin White, Rudolfs Balcers and Nick Cousins are key signings for the upcoming season.

The Top 6 are still good enough to dominate the Key Strengths column.

The Panthers lost in the first round to the Lightning last year. They did a lot of signings in this summer. Their biggest weakness is their defense. Sergei Bobrovsky is still their #1 goaltender. The team is going to be a big coin flip. It's a good thing they got Matthew Tkachuk. But losing Mackenzie Weegar hurts. There are also some questions about their defensive depth. Paul Maurice is not a sexy choice for coach. He's paid nearly $10 million a year to do Sergei's things. Spencer Knight needs to perform well. Sergei is the hardest contract in hockey.

Matthews is going to LA. He has a blistering offense behind him. The defense is okay.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are a team with a lot of resources but they can't win more than four games in the playoffs. Boston is going to win the cup.   The team that has more resources for the sport than the Toronto team has a problem with their goalkeeping. The Toronto players are going through a difficult time. They are betting on their two goalkeepers.

Tampa Bay Lightning are the most successful team in the NHL. They are going to defend their title as Eastern Conference champions. Steven Stamkos and Anthony Cirelli are good players. Brayden Point is a world class player. Vasilevskiy is the Vezina finalist. The Lightning play in a division with the Boston Bruins. The division is very competitive. Boston and Toronto play each other in two rounds of the playoffs.
