3 Knicks that improved their trade value in 2022-23

With the 2022-23 season wrapped up, the New York Knicks enter an offseason in which they have several opportunities to improve their roster through trades. Whether they pursue a superstar or not all depends on how aggressive Leon Rose wants to be.

The Knicks had their best season in 10 years, and while not everyone lived up to their expectations, most players on the team exceeded them. Not everyone on the team is available to be traded for, but there are certainly some players that are more likely to go than others.

These three Knicks not only have a chance to be traded but also improved their value on the market with their play this season.

3. Immanuel Quickley

While the odds of Immanuel Quickley being traded this offseason are slim to none, there is a slight chance the Knicks move on from him if a genuine superstar player becomes available. Think of this more as a praise of Quickley’s play this season rather than wanting to trade him.

In 81 games, Quickley averaged 14.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field and 37.0% from three on 5.6 attempts. Not only did Quickley average career highs in almost every stat offensively, but the jump he made on defense is what truly made this season from him special.

Quickley was not only the Knicks’ best defensive player, but he was one of the better perimeter defenders in the NBA. While the league didn’t recognize it with their All-Defensive voting, real fans know how impactful he was on that side of the ball.

Entering the final year of his rookie deal, fans are hopeful that the Knicks and Quickley can work together to find an extension that will benefit both him and the team. If not, fans very well could see the 23-year-old be packaged for a superstar to play alongside Jalen Brunson.
