5 Premier League stars who have had a poor start to this season (2022-23)

The 2022/23 Premier League campaign has already witnessed several stars perform to their potential. However, some players have not quite found their feet yet this season.

The 2022/23 Premier League season has seen multiple stars underperform. Here are five of them.

Jamie Vardy's form has declined this season. He has scored none in seven games for Leicester City. His team-mates have been less than creative and motivated. Vardys' main threat is his lightning runs behind the last defender. If he can improve his game, he could be back amongst the goals soon.

Mason Mount has not scored a single goal for Chelsea this season. He scored 11 times and produced 10 assists in 32 Premier League games last season but he has struggled this time. The new changes at Chelsea have not helped either. Chelsea are looking for a replacement for Thomas Tuchel.

Riyad Mahrez has played six out of seven league games for Manchester City this season. He has had zero goal involvements and his performances have been mediocre. Erling Haaland has been a success for his club.

Trent Alexander-Arnold has had a poor start to the season for Liverpool. He has only scored once and provided zero assists in six Premier League games. Alexander Arnold's attacking threat has often helped him to overcome criticism about his defensive deficiencies. He needs to fire on all engines again this season to avoid coming under more scrutiny.

Cristiano Ronaldo has started just one Premier League game this season. He has not scored a single goal in any of them. Erik Ten Hag's team has come together as a whole and won the game. Ronaldo is not the main man at Manchester United anymore. He will need to adapt to the new system once the team turns into a possession-based team.
