80-1 shot Rich Strike races to huge upset in Kentucky Derby

Rich Strike, an 80-1 shot, won the Kentucky Derby. Epicenter finished second, Zandon third. It was the second-biggest upset in the Derby's 148-year history. Only Donerail in 1913 had a higher payout of $184.90. Jockey Sonny Leon and trainer Kenny McPeek's horses finished eighth and ninth. It's Leon's and Reed's first Derby, after losing nearly two dozen horses in a barn fire five years ago. The horse was bought for $30,000 last fall. He had just two previous wins in his career.
