'A bet is a bet': Calgarians pay up in lost Battle of Alberta wagers
The Calgary Flames lost the Stanley Cup playoffs to the Edmonton Oilers. The wagers are being paid out. Mayor Jyoti Gondek will wear an Oilers jersey to a city council meeting on June 7th. Edmonton Mayor Amarjeet Sohi will avoid that fate. Calgary police chief Mark Neufeld will spend a day wearing an Edmonton jersey and having the team's logo painted on his face. First Nations and local police forces also lost bets. Mount Royal University will fly an Oiler flag on campus for the day Monday. MacEwan University lost a bet against Edmonton's Alphonso Davies.
