After Father Shaquille O’Neal Ate a Frog on Live TV, Lesser Known Son Holding a Live Turtle in His Hands Would Amuse Fans

As forceful as he was on the hardwood, Shaquille O’Neal is a man of the people. And he’s also a man of his word. Earlier this year, he honored his bet with Ernie Johnson and ate frogs on air. Big Diesel‘s kids have his sense of humor too, which Shareef O’Neal made apparent recently. The 23-year-old shared a picture of his younger self on Instagram with a reptile that threw us back to Shaq’s frog bet. The picture showed Shareef growing up like any other kid bearing a cringe smile as his parents made him pose for the tenth picture that day.

The O’Neals and animals have a funny connection, apparently. Shareef’s recent throwback picture was without context. But it showed that before Shaq was rueing the day he didn’t support the Frogs, Shareef was friends with another reptilian creature.

The son of Shaquille O’Neal shares a hilarious childhood picture

Shareef is stepping out of his famous father’s shadow and paving his own way in basketball. He currently plays in the NBA G-League Ignite and is working his way up to the pros. Not long ago, social media users praised him for avoiding an awkward situation with Bronny James. Basketball might not be the only talent Shareef inherited from his dad. He’s got Shaq’s wit, humor, and penchant for fun. And his recent Instagram story showed his childhood was just like any other kid’s.

The former LSU Tigers star of himself holding a live turtle (at least we think it’s a turtle, we’re no zoologists). His lopsided non-smile is the show-stopper. Haven’t we all had those days when we’re tired of posing for our parents’ cameras?

Kid Shareef looks adorable nonetheless. But it also reminds us of his father getting up close and personal with frogs.

ICYMI, Shaquille O’Neal made a wager with his TNT co-host in January. Shaq bet that if Texas Christian University lost to the University of Georgia, he would “eat some frogs” on air. Georgia is Johnson’s alma mater and their mascot? Horned Frogs. Hence, a fitting bet.

TCU lost 65-7 and the Los Angeles Lakers legend held up his end of the bet. Johnson personally served O’Neal a dish of frog legs with “frog leg sauce.” Now frog legs are a delicacy all over the world but it’s not an easy concept to stomach for many. However, O’Neal coolly ate his exotic meal on air while his fellow panelists cringed.

Shareef or his siblings didn’t react to their father’s on-air shenanigans then. But it was bound to make another funny story at family dinners.

Another one of the O’Neal kids is expanding his entertainment portfolio.

Myles O’Neal announced he is releasing a new song. Big Diesel is a platinum-selling artist, so his kid’s new track is highly-anticipated.

Myles’ upcoming song, “Naked”, which already has us buzzing.

With a family like this, who needs promoters?

All that’s left is for one big O’Neal family collaboration. What do you think?
