Al-Nassr vs Al-Wehda Highlights:King’s Cup Highlights: Jean-David Beauguel’s spectacular bicycle kick in the first half eliminated Al Nassr from the King Cup semifinals against tenacious Al Wehda, foiling Cristiano Ronaldo’s efforts.

The hosts were predicted to easily go to the final and book a heavyweight match against Al-Hilal after defeating their opponents by the score of 4-0 just a few months earlier, with Ronaldo scoring each of the four goals. Nassr was eliminated from the tournament at the semi-final stage, but the newly promoted team had other plans, and one goal was enough for them to secure a path to the final.

Al Nassr trailed at the half to Beauguel’s spectacular shot, and Monir El Kajoui made two outstanding stops to save Ronaldo from scoring. As he exited the ground, Ronaldo shook his head and argued with the coaching staff.

The five-time winner of the Ballon d’Or sat on his haunches as the final whistle sounded, signalling Al Nassr’s second straight loss and their elimination from the cup. Their pitiful opponents, who had just been promoted to the Saudi Pro League and were 31 points below Ronaldo’s club, won despite having 10 men on the pitch.

Following a second booking for a foul on him by centerback Abdullah Al-Hafith, Ronaldo sent a free kick from the edge of the penalty area wide over the crossbar. Later on, he struck the crossbar with a first-time half-volley.

Al Nassr have now gone three games without scoring in all competitions, while Ronaldo’s struggling team has gone two hours and 54 minutes without a goal. The experienced player believed he had scored before Al Nassr fell behind, but El Kajoui, the courageous custodian, somehow prevented it from happening by blocking Ronaldo’s point-blank volley with his chest.

Soon after the break, El Kajoui made another outstanding save to deflect Ronaldo’s effort away. Oscar Duerte then made the game’s first of two goalline clearances to block Sultan Al-Ghanam’s rebound header.Despite having a numerical disadvantage, Al Wehda managed to hang on for more than 40 minutes thanks to Al Nassr’s wastefulness with shooting and crossing opportunities. In the championship game, they face league favourites Al Hilal, who are a massive underdog.
