Rangers vs Orioles Game 1 Prediction & Best Bet

The Rangers head into the ALDS after sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays in two games at Tropicana Field. Meanwhile, the Orioles had a bye through the Wild Card due to their 101-win campaign that saw them finish atop the American League standings.

The two AL clubs collided six times during the regular season, resulting in three wins apiece. Having said that, it was the Rangers who had better luck at Camden Yards, winning two of three road games while outscoring the O’s 19-8 on aggregate.

While the odds are in Baltimore’s favor on Saturday, I wouldn’t be surprised if Texas pulls off the upset.

After all, the Rangers have momentum on their side after dismantling the Rays. The Orioles, on the other hand, haven’t played in nearly a week. They also haven’t been that great at home lately, going 6-6 in their last 12 games at Camden Yards.

Furthermore, four of Baltimore’s wins during that stretch came against sub-.500 teams, so facing Texas presents an entirely different challenge.

I’m also not sure that the Orioles can keep pace with the Rangers’ firepower. Texas just dropped 11 runs against Tampa Bay while averaging the third-most runs (5.44) in the Majors. For reference, the O’s are averaging just 2.6 runs in their last eight games.

Expect the Rangers to shock the world with a hard-fought win on Saturday.

Twins vs Astros Game 1 Prediction & Best Bet

The Twins didn’t break much of a sweat last round, overcoming the Toronto Blue Jays in two games while only allowing a single run along the way. Meanwhile, the Astros return to action after their 90-win season saw them finish atop the AL West.

Minnesota beat Houston four times in six meetings during the 2023 MLB season, which included a 2-1 series win at Minute Maid Park back in May.

While the Twins looked solid against the Blue Jays, the victory also had a lot to do with Toronto making several head-scratching decisions. Marching into Houston and overcoming the Astros won’t be as easy.

After all, the host team has won four straight games ahead of the postseason, outscoring those opponents by an average of 3.5 runs.

It’s also worth noting that even though the Twins won the regular-season series between these teams, they’re still 4-8 in their last 12 matchups against the Astros.

At the end of the day, I don’t see the defending World Series Champions losing Game 1 of the ALDS. They’ve advanced past this round in each of the last six postseasons and I don’t expect that to change this year.

Twins vs Astros Game 1 Prediction: HOU 4, MIN 2
