All Blacks v Canada: Things more likely to happen than Canada beating New Zealand

In World Rugby's men's rankings, New Zealand comes out on top, while Canada sits 22nd. The teams last faced each other at the 2011 Rugby World Cup where the All Blacks finished ahead 79-15.

According to TAB's Rugby World Cup odds, the Canadians would have a one in 151 chance of winning, meaning it would take over 1000 years for them to come out on top, as they usually play each other every eight years.  were less favourable to the Canadians, with calculations showing a one in 250 chance - or 2000 years.

A win for Canada on Wednesday night (11.15pm NZT) would be three times more unlikely to happen than the upset just before the 2011 Rugby World Cup when Samoa beat Australia 32-23

To put a potential win over the All Blacks into perspective, here's something with the same one to 151 odds.

Betting agency Paddy Power was running the same odds on US President Donald Trump converting to Islam.

So based on the current TAB odds, what was more likely to happen?

JON SNOW BECOMES JAMES BOND

With all the discussion over the next James Bond - will it be a woman? - Paddy Power was taking bets on which actors would take on the iconic role.

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington - who played Jon Snow on the series - was picked at 100 to one to become the next British spy, replacing long-term Bond actor Daniel Craig. Aussie Chris Hemsworth was also in the mix at 25 to one.

CATS THE MOVIE WILL WIN AN OSCAR

Despite not even being released yet, bets were being taken for the movie remake of Cats the musical to win an Oscar, one of the most prestigious movie awards out there.

Coming in with odds of 14 to one, the movie with the strangest trailer ever - it was described as a drug-induced nightmare - was more likely to take the top prize than Canada crossing the try line more times than the Kiwis.

ALIEN LIFE IS PROVEN IN 2019

While countries around the world were racing to the moon and Mars, some people were making bets and focusing on when we will come into contact with alien life forms.

With just under three months left in the year, there was a two to one chance extra-terristrial life would be proven in 2019, according to Paddy Power.

* An earlier version of this article incorrectly said Samoa defeated Australia 32-23 at the 2011 Rugby World Cup. That match was in fact just prior to the tournament and this article has been edited to reflect that.
