Anaheim Ducks vs Arizona Coyotes Game Preview and Prediction 4/8/2023

The Anaheim Ducks and Arizona Coyotes are all set for a Western Conference showdown tonight between two of the worst teams across the NHL. Puck-drop is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. EST from Mullett Arena at Arizona State University.

Anaheim comes into this game really struggling. They have lost nine straight games and this season has been a bad memory for the franchise. But all is not lost as they are firmly looking ahead to the NHL Draft and have a good chance for a top pick. It would be a nice consolation prize for the type of year they have had. This is a team that struggles to score goals and generate much offense while also giving up goals like crazy to opposing teams. They often get blown out and run off the ice. As they face Arizona today, they will need to make sure they get good shot attempts 

Arizona enters this game struggling as well. This season has been bad for many reasons but the product on the ice just hasn’t been strong for the Coyotes. Like Anaheim, they have also lost nine straight games entering this matchup. So, something has to give between these two squads. The Coyotes have a chance to play spoiler most nights but against the lowly Ducks, there really isn’t much to play for except bragging rights. This game could be lower scoring due to both teams being so poor on offense. 

Prediction: Anaheim Ducks 4, Arizona Coyotes 2

Even though the Ducks have really struggled this season, they have beaten the Coyotes the last few times that they have faced each other. I like the same trend to continue, and the Ducks get the win on the road.
