Anna Poranski, Trinity Fox defend District 10 girls tennis titles

Fairview's Trinity Fox and Cathedral Prep's Anna Poranski won District 10's girls singles tennis tournament on Monday. Fox became the team's first three-time champion. Poranksi won as part of the Ramblers' inaugural program.

Trinity Fox won the District 10 girls tennis championship on Monday. She beat top seed Liu in the final. Liu had a cold and was coughing during the match. Fox reached the district's 3A championship match in each of her four tournament appearances. She was a freshman when Abby Murray beat her in their 2019 final at the City Rec Tournament. The team is preparing for its 2022 season. It didn't play any challenge matches in recent weeks. They didn’t play each other in previous two or three weeks, but they were going to play against each others.

Anna Poranski and Trinity Fox defend District 10 girls tennis titles. Poransky beat Macy Matson in the 2021 final at Westwood. She's the district's first back-to-back 2A champion since 2017. Grove City great Emily Gordon completed a four-year tournament sweep in 2016.

Richard Beck has retired as a boys tennis coach at McDowell High School after 54 seasons. He will remain as coach of the Trojans' girls tennis team. Richard Sertz retired from Fairview High as their boys' tennis coaching after 24 seasons in the position. SERTZ will continue as the girls' coach.

Anna Poranski and Trinity Fox defend District 10 girls tennis titles. They will play in Thursday's doubles tournament. Anne Marie Prichard will have a new partner in her quest for a third consecutive title at the 2A level. McDowell's Nabiah Bhatti won last fall's 3A tournament with graduate Samantha Becker.
