Apache Chase makes light work of Gateway rivals

Apache Chase won The Gateway at Eagle Farm on Saturday. The horse has matured from a fired-up hothead to a relaxed machine. Apache Chase is the only Stradbroke ballot-free race outside of the winter carnival. It is only the third running of The Gate. Forster has spent a long time getting Apache to relax.

Apache Chase won the Golden Eagle at the weekend. He was a $1.30 favourite. Apache Chase has won over 1200m, 1400m and 1500m in a short period of time. Desleigh Forster will decide which race to run him in later. Forstere and jockey Jim Byrne won a double.

Georgina Cartwright rides Garibaldi to a win at Eagle Farm on Saturday. Ryan Maloney was injured jumping Swiss Exile in the third race of the day. Tony Gollan was looking for a replacement jockey. He chose Georgina to ride the $1.90 chance in Class 6 Plate.

Georgina Cartwright scored a late pick-up win on Garibaldi. Ben Thompson stormed to victory in the Listed Bribie Handicap on Totally Charmed. Thompson admits he leant on his partner Stephanie Thornton for advice.
