Arsenal will need to overturn a first leg deficit to reach the Champions League quarter-finals

Mikel Arteta has reenergised the Emirates crowd

Looking to overturn a one-goal deficit from last month’s first leg, Arsenal welcome Porto to the Emirates on Tuesday night for the second leg of their Champions League Last 16 tie.

Galeno's stoppage-time strike has given the Portuguese giants a slender lead over Mikel Arteta’s Gunners ahead of this week’s return match in North London.

That last-gasp defeat at the Estadio do Dragao is the only real blot on Arsenal’s copybook since they returned from their winter break, with the capital club claiming top honours from each of their last eight Premier League matches, moving to the summit of the standings in the process.

As for Porto, they warmed up for this crunch second leg by cruising to a 3-0 win away at Portimonense in the Primeira Liga on Friday night.

Arsenal vs Porto Prediction

Whilst Arsenal have left themselves with work to do if they are to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time since 2010, the Gunners will approach this contest high in confidence after moving to the top of the Premier League at the weekend.

What’s more, Arteta’s men boast an impressive record at the Emirates this season, having won 14 of their 18 home matches across all competitions to date, including each of their last four.

Across that stretch of games the Gunners put in a trio of eye-catching attacking displays when overcoming PSV, Sevilla and Lens en-route to topping Champions League Group B, racking up 11 goals and three clean sheets for good measure.

Of course, Porto will likely prove to be a tougher nut to crack and have already demonstrated they have the ability to frustrate the hosts, however high-flying Arsenal should have enough firepower to overturn the one-goal deficit and take their place in the quarter-final draw.

Arsenal vs Porto Tips

Bukayo Saka Anytime Goalscorer @ 29/20 on Unibet

With the onus on Arsenal to attack from the off on Tuesday night, backing Bukayo Saka in the Anytime Goalscorer market at 6/4 on Unibet holds plenty of appeal.

The Gunners’ leading marksman has already notched in each of his side’s three Champions League home matches this season, not to mention he has chipped in with five goals across his last seven Premier League appearances.

That doesn’t bode well for a Porto side who failed to keep a clean sheet in each of their three group stage games away from home earlier this season.

Considering his recent form, coupled with the fact that he tends to be on penalty duty, siding with Saka to strike stands out at 29/20 on Unibet.
