Asian flags fly high
Japan beat Germany and Spain 2-1 in the World Cup. Germany was once considered a footballing super nation. Five of the Japanese players played in German leagues. They learnt self-belief and how to take on European teams. Japan's team played football which is simple and clean. They may not win the tournament but they are doing the right things. People rave about Japan for its cleanliness and being systematic. It is this discipline instilled in them from a young age that makes a large difference on the global stage. The team controlled the humidity in training and the ambience in their training. Their huddle in middle of football pitch was respectful.
