The Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves meet in MLB action from Truist Park on Sunday.

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be looking to rebound from a 10-4 loss to Atlanta on Saturday for their 5 straight loss. Going into Saturday’s game, Ke’Bryan Hayes has a team-high 55 hits and 13 doubles with a team-high .284 batting average as well as 20 RBIs while Daniel Vogelbach has 6 home runs and 14 RBIs. Ben Gamel also has 17 RBIs while Michael Chavis also has 19 RBIs while Reynolds and Jack Suwinski each have a team-high 8 home runs on the year. Jose Quintana will start here and is 1-3 with a 3.19 ERA and 46 strikeouts this season.

The Atlanta Braves will look to build on their double-digit win streak after their triumph over the Pirates from Saturday. Heading into Saturday’s matchup, Matt Olson has 57 hits with a .254 batting average and a team-high 24 doubles while Marcell Ozuna has 50 hits with 7 doubles, 10 home runs and 23 RBIs. Austin Riley has 60 hits with 13 doubles, 15 home runs and 34 RBIs and Ozzie Albies has 7 home runs and 29 RBIs and Dansby Swanson also has 29 RBIs of his own as well as a .286 batting average and 61 hits this season. Kyle Wright will start here and is 6-3 with a 2.39 ERA and 73 strikeouts this season.

Pittsburgh is 42-101 in their last 143 road games and 1-4 in their last 5 games as an underdog while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Atlanta is 9-0 in their last 9 games overall and 5-0 in their last 5 home games while the over is 8-1-2 in their last 11 Sunday games.

I get the case to be made for either side here, but as much as I like the value we’re getting with Pittsburgh, Quintana hasn’t been his usual sharp self in his last couple of stats and that’s not good with how everything is clicking for the Braves right now. When the pitching is off, the offense can lift it up and vice versa. If both are on, watch out. I’m not a Kyle Wright lover, but this is just a spot where the Braves run free and tee off. Give me the Braves -1.5 here.
