Australia break Fijian hearts at Hong Kong Sevens
Australia's rugby team won the Hong Kong Sevens for the first time in 34 years. They beat Olympic and World Cup champions Fiji 20-17 in the final. It was the team's first triumph since rugby's amateur era in 1988. Maurice Longbottom was named the player of the tournament. He was instrumental in their three knock-out matches. He won a penalty in extra-time against France and a team try against Ireland. The team was also short of resources due to injuries to Jimmy Turner and Darby Lancaster. His team-mate Josh Turner was injured. Longbotto was awarded the Player of The Match award.
