Baltimore Orioles 2022: Scouting, Projected Lineup, Season Prediction

The Baltimore Orioles are rebuilding for the fourth year in a row. They are undermanned and have a lot of injuries in the rotation. The only bright spots in 2022 should come from the return of some players and the influx of top prospects.

The Orioles are hopeless again. They are getting stronger up the middle with Cedric Mullins in center and Adley Rutschman on the way at catcher. Paul Fry was demoted to Triple-A Norfolk on August 29. He had a 1.78 ERA in his first 26 outings and an 11.05 ERA the next 26. His ERA was 34.71 against the Rays in nine games and 2.95 versus everyone else. The Orioles had three players hit multiple home runs in three consecutive games to tie the club record. The 17 multi-homer games in 2021 tied for third in the majors.

Cedric Mullins, Austin Hays, Trey Mancini, Ryan Mountcastle, Anthony Santander, Rougned Odor, Ramón Urías, Kelvin Gutiérrez, and Trey O'Mara are the Baltimore Orioles' probable starting line-up for the 2022 season.
