Benjamin Ayimba: How skinny kid became rugby star
Benjamin Ayimba won the 2016 Singapore Sevens after thrashing Fiji 30-7. He was fired as the Seven's coach in 2011. Ayiimbi was a schoolboy athlete who won many sports. His cousin Dr Zacheus Omondi played for Tusker FC. He mentored Enoch Agwanda and Collins Ondani. In the late 1990s, he played rugby for Impala RFC. Richard Omwela reinstated him as a coach. The result was the recent Singapore win. It was his first coaching job. A sportsman since childhood, Ayimi came from a sporting family.
