Best Luka Doncic prop bet for Mavericks vs. Pelicans
After a 136-124 win over the Pelicans on Sunday, Luka Doncic and the Mavericks will play New Orleans again tonight for an NBA In-Season Tournament group play game. While this game is part of the In-Season Tournament, the wins and losses still count for regular season standings.
The Mavericks are off to a hot 8-2 start and with a couple big wins through the weekend. Dallas beat the Clipper 144-126 on Friday before stomping through New Orleans two days later. Despite only playing 28 minutes on Sunday, Doncic had 30 points in their victory.
Doncic is first in the NBA averaging 32.6 points per game. Last year he had the second most points per game at 32.4 and the season prior he had the third most. Doncic has scored 30 or more points in seven of his ten games this season.
The Pelicans will still be without CJ McCollum who is one of their best players and usually matches up against Doncic. Herbert Jones is also questionable for New Orleans and he often sees time defending Doncic. The Pelicans are quite thin without those two and it gives more opportunity for our prop bet.
The only concern for the guard would be if the Mavericks stretch a big lead again, he may sit the fourth quarter and not hit his total. If you are worried about that, consider taking Doncic over 7.5 assists (-146, FanDuel). We don’t like the payout as much on this bet, but Doncic and Kyrie Irving have no problem spreading the floor.
