There will be a 60-day window, plus a 30-day extension. That timeline put a launch for North Carolina sportsbook promos right around the middle of March.

We expect they’ll do everything in their power to launch for March Madness, considering the fact the state of North Carolina is basketball-crazed.

The initial hope was for Jan. 8, 2024. That was the date written into HB 347, but changes to the licensing structure delayed things.

While inching the start of legal online sports betting down the line if far from ideal, it is better that NC betting regulators and sportsbook operators get everything right before any launch.
