Best Prop Bets for Lakers vs Grizzlies (Don't forget LA's other star)

By now you’ve heard the devastating news that LeBron James could be on the sideline for several weeks with a right foot injury that needs multiple opinions.

The news of LeBron’s injury is a let-down for fans across the NBA, but his absence could open up some opportunities for other Lakers players to shine – and the odds might not reflect that just yet.

I have some interesting prop bets circled for tonight’s Lakers vs. Grizzlies game, but before I get into that, you’ll want to learn how you can cash in on one of the best promotions in sports betting at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Here’s how I’m using my fully-insured bet tonight:

Top Prop Picks for Lakers-Grizzlies

The first game of LeBron’s absence won’t be easy for the Lakers as they travel to play at The GrindHouse, where Memphis is 25-5.

With LA listed at +9.5 underdogs on the spread, it might not be much fun to bet either side of that spread in a game that might not be too competitive in the second half.

Instead, let’s check out a few prop picks we could have fun with instead:

Anthony Davis OVER 43.5 points + rebounds + assists (-120)

The logic of this play is pretty obvious. With LeBron out, the Lakers are going to need to lean on their last remaining star.

Davis has been a MONSTER on the boards lately, averaging 13.9 rebounds per game in the month of February alone while also adding three games of 30+ points.

With Steven Adams out for Memphis, this is a great opportunity for Davis to clean up the glass for LA. It also doesn’t hurt that LeBron won’t be driving the lane every other play – clearing up space and giving Davis more opportunities to score, too.

If the Lakers are going to stay in this game, it will likely be due to Davis’s efforts.

Jaren Jackson Jr. OVER 2.5 blocks (-135)

If you haven’t bet on Jackson Jr. blocks yet this season, you’re missing out! Jackson Jr. is the undisputable king of blocks in the NBA. He leads the association with 3.2 blocks per game. The next-best player, Nic Claxton of the Nets, averages 2.6 blocks per game.

Without LeBron on the court, Jackson Jr. should have an easier time packing shots from players like Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley, Rui Hachimura, and Troy Brown Jr.

Jackson Jr. has averaged 3.5 blocks per game this month and has gone over 2.5 blocks in six of his last eight games.

If you need any other reason, it’s just an electric prop to bet.

Ja Morant UNDER 27.5 points -105

It might feel a little odd betting against one of the best players in the NBA, but let me tell you why it might make some sense.

There’s a good chance that Memphis’s top-rated defense locks down this Lakers team without LeBron on the court. That means a couple of things. First, this game could turn into a second-half rout with star players like Morant either resting or at least taking their foot off the pedal. Secondly, Morant might not need to score that much in what could be a low-scoring game, even if it is close.

Morant has gone well under this number in both games back from the All-Star Break and has gone under this number in seven of his last 10 games.

Regardless of what you bet on, make sure it’s fully insured! before this offer ends.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
