Don’t discredit UConn’s momentum coming into tonight’s meeting with Creighton. The Huskies will be riding high after stomping conference rival Marquette over the weekend, and I expect them to keep that going against the Bluejays.
Creighton is a terrific team, and while it has a great offense, it doesn’t have the talent on defense to keep up with UConn, which excels on both ends of the floor. The Bluejays rank 107th in points allowed per game this season (69.3), while the Huskies rank inside the top 25 in both points scored (82.0) and against (63.7).
UConn limited Creighton to a meager 48 points in their last meeting on Jan. 17. I don’t anticipate such a low-scoring outing from the Bluejays on their home court, but the Huskies know how to hold this group in check.
