This year’s ACC men’s hoops tourney will be be played at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.

Play begins Tuesday with a trio of first-round games and continues through Saturday night’s championship, set for 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The top four seeds, including seventh-ranked North Carolina and ninth-ranked Duke, will get double byes into Thursday’s quarterfinals, giving those a four a major advantage toward claiming the title and earning the conference’s automatic NCAA Tournament bid.

The Tar Heels and Blue Devils are the only ACC teams currently ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 and naturally are the clear tournament favorites. Virginia Clemson, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Florida State stand out among the other squads who could make some bracket noise.

Big man Kyle Filipowski and Duke are the defending ACC tourney champs, with the Devils having won three of the last six titles overall.

Getting past rival North Carolina, though, won’t be easy, though, as the Heels are seeking their first ACC tourney crown since 2016.

Also keep an eye on ACC’s “bubble” teams such as Virginia, Wake Forest, Syracuse and Pittsburgh who need strong showings in D.C. to punch their Big Dance tickets.
