Bettors confident long-shot bets on Knights are golden

Luke Pergande made two of the 13 futures wagers that were placed on the Golden Knights at 500-1 odds in October at the Westgate sports book. He made a $50 bet for himself that will pay $25,000 if Vegas wins the Stanley Cup and a bet of $20 for his then-girlfriend, Jami DeLauri, that'll pay him $10,00. DeLauri and PerGande broke up, but he gave the ticket to DeLaura, who lives in Boston.

Hermin Soriano and his wife, Charrize Dy-Soriano, bet $400 on the Golden Knights at 100-1 odds to make $40,000. They sold their $300 ticket Monday for $12,600 on PropSwap and plan to use the money to pay for a trip to Paris this summer.

John Lytle has bet $20,000 on the Knights and he's not going to hedge. Joe Ellis split a $100 futures wager with his college roommates. If the team wins, they will discuss selling the ticket. If they don't, he will remind his father that he didn't make the bet. He will also discuss if he wants to go on a trip to Europe. The team is 3-0 and the odds are good they'll win the Stanley Cup.
