Big 12 football: Will TCU loss to Georgia wipe out conference's gains?

Georgia beat Texas Christian 65-7 in the national championship game. The Big 12's reputation has taken a hit.  “I'm disappointed we didn't make a better show tonight, because that's not indicative of who we are,” said TCU coach Sonny Dykes.

Georgia beat TCU 65-7 in the Big 12 Championship Game. The conference was once vulnerable after a decade of failure and realignment drama. Now it's the land of cotton, but the Sooners and Longhorns haven't prospered as well. TCU drew the respect of the College Football Playoff committee by receiving a berth and a No. 3 seed. It's a little guy in comparison with the Southeastern Conference and the big Ten. Georgia is better than everyone else in college football. OU and Texas are seeking asylum in SEC. They want money, repute and access. For Big12 schools, winning a national championship is like a camel going through the eye of a needle.

Allen Fieldhouse hosted a basketball game between Kansas and Oklahoma. The game was decided by foul shots. The fans were loud. They were louder than the players. It was a good game for the fans. OU coach Porter Moser talked about the importance of communication. He also talked of the atmosphere. For the team, communication is key. When the crowd gets going, the game is going to be crazy.
