Big Ten weekend review: week 11

Maryland lost 30-0 to Penn State in State College, Pennsylvania. All 14 Big Ten teams were on the field on Saturday.

Purdue beat Illinois 31-24 in a game that had a lot of implications for the Big Ten West title race. The game was played in Champaign, Illinois. Illinois had taken a 7-0 lead after the first quarter. Purdue responded with a long drive and a touchdown. The team is now in fourth place in the league. It is tied with Iowa and Minnesota for first place. They play each other in week 11.   P Purdue and Illinois are in four-way tie for top spot in Big 10 West.

Penn State beat Maryland 30-0 on Saturday. The Nittany Lions are 42-3-1 against the Terps all-time. Penn State had 413 total yards to just 134 for Maryland. The game was played in front of a home crowd. It was a statement game. Nick Singleton scored two touchdowns for Penn Stat. Taulia Tagovailoa threw for 74 yards.

Iowa beat Wisconsin 24-10 in a Big Ten West showdown. Iowa is now tied with Wisconsin in the Big 10 West standings. The teams are competing for a spot in conference's championship game. Wisconsin got on the board first. The Hawkeyes defense came through for their defense. They didn't allow a point in 30 minutes of the second half. Spencer Petras' 1-yard touchdown rush was the icing on Iowa's cake.
