Blackadder Earns Preakness Berth With El Camino Real Derby Victory
Blackadder won the $100,000 El Camino Real Derby on Saturday at Golden Gate Fields in Albany, California. Blackadder earned an all-expenses paid, free berth into the Grade 1 Preakness Stakes on May 21. Last year, Rombauer took advantage of the free berths and went on to win the Preaks. Blackadders is trained by Bob Baffert. Baddert won 1996 edition with Cavonnier and the 2019 running with Azul Coast. Mackinnon finished second, while stablemate Del Mo came third. The winner paid $9.60 to won, $3.80 to place and $4.40 to show.
