Wolf Power won the feature race. The other horses on the card were Merasyn, Heracles and Hawkins. It cost R6 to take the trifecta. It was the train money home. Stella Maris and Count du Barry were preparing for the J&B Met. They were there to cheer on their friends. There were no hopers like Hawkins over a distance half of his optimum trip. Heracle's was past his best and declining form wise. Merayn was outclassed. Hawkins was a winter specialist. Sheacles was old and her best form was not good. Wolf Power was on a good form.
