Bob “Hollywood” Heyden on his long tenure at the “greatest racetrack and greatest racing operation in the world”

The Meadowlands has the greatest public relations department of all racetracks. Publicists who have worked at the track include Allen Gutterman, Ellen Harvey, Sam McKee, Steve Katz, Bob Heyden, Charlie Singer, Sam Anzalone, Dave Little,Dave Brower, Carol Hodes, Nick Salvi, Ken Warkentin and Dave little. Roosevelt Raceway had the best publicists, harness or otherwise, Joseph Herbert Goldstein and Lou Barash.

Bob Heyden worked at The Meadowlands for 30 years. He turned down a job as a baseball beat writer at the Bergen Record in 1986 to work at a harness racing track. He was introduced to the Communicators Corner Hall of Fame at Goshen by Gene "Stick" Michael. Bob is a huge Yankees fan. The Big M was built by the Sports Authority. It is the “greatest racetrack and greatest racing operation in the world”.

Bob Heyden worked at The Meadowlands for many years. He believes that the success of the operation was based on the exceptional talent of four people. Ken Warkentin is going to be the new Communicator's Corner. He has a talent for gathering interesting facts. His kids used to call him a garbagehead. It's not all of his facts are useless. he hopes others will find them interesting. and interesting too. The majority of them are quite interesting, he says.

Bob Heyden gives his opinion on the best drivers. Dexter Dunn is the most talented driver. Tim Tetrick is considered the greatest driver of the last 15 years.

Stanley Dancer was the greatest horse trainer of any breed. He had three Triple Crown winners in five years and more Horses of the Year than any other trainer. Stanley was one of his dearest friends. Dave Brower was also a great trainer at The Meadowlands. Stan is involved in Harness Horse Youth Foundation. He was present at the Celebration of Life held at Meadowland on Saturday. His girlfriend Ellen Taylor runs the foundation. She's been running it since 1976. It's a success. The foundation is dedicated to helping kids learn about standardbred racing. They will never see anything like the original Meadowlings again.
