Boca are bidding to become the joint most successful team in the history of the competition as they look to lift their seventh title on Saturday. The Xeneize last lifted the trophy back in 2007, with a reported 110,000 fans making the trip to Brazil to support their side this weekend.

Fluminense have faced Boca six times in the Libertadores, with both teams having won two of those and the other two finishing in a draw. Fernando Diniz has been pivotal in the success of Fluminense and their journey to this final where they have the chance to add the trophy to their cabinet for the first time in their history.

The only other occasion that Fluminense reached the final was back in 2008, when a young Thiago Silva featured, but this time they do have the advantage of the game being played in the stadium where they contest their home league matches - the iconic Maracana.

Boca Juniors vs Fluminense Tips

Luis Advincula Over 1.5 Fouls Committed

South American football and the Copa Libertadores are synonymous with plenty of fouls and high-card counts. Saturday’s contest should be no different, as these two battle it out in one of the most romantic sporting competitions on the planet.

Our headline tip for the evening is for Boca’s Luis Advincula to commit Over 1.5 fouls at odds of 5/4 with bet365. The Boca right-back will be the direct opponent of Fluminense’s Keno, with the attacker having drawn 1.2 fouls per game in the Brazilian top-flight this season.

Advincula gave away at least two fouls in six of his 15 appearances in the Argentine Primera Division in the most recent campaign which doesn’t necessarily scream value when looking at the 5/4 on show for a repeat here.

This however is a Libertadores final and we can expect both sides to be performing plenty of the dark arts. The Peruvian racked up a whopping six fouls when Boca faced their bitter rivals River Plate a few months ago and considering his tricky opponent on Saturday we think he’ll clear this line of Over 1.5 fouls rather easily.

Boca Juniors to lift the trophy & Sergio Romero Over 3.5 Saves

The Other selection we have opted for comes via the bet365 Bet Builder feature where we are siding with Boca to win the trophy and Sergio Romeo to make Over 3.5 Saves. A large proportion of their success in the Libertadores this time round has been due to their water-tight defence which has only conceded five goals throughout the tournament.

The former Manchester United goalkeeper has been in outstanding form for Boca and was the deciding factor in their three penalty shoot-out victories in the knockout stage. This could be key, should the teams fail to be separated in Rio and it’s worth noting that Romero heads into the final with a remarkable save percentage throughout the tournament having kept out 34 of the 39 shots on target he has faced (87%).

Bet365 go 15/4 that Boca lift the trophy and Romero makes Over 3.5 saves in the match.
