Boston College Bowl Projections After Week 6

Boston College improved to 3-3 entering the bye week with a win over Army on Saturday in West Point 27-24. With still half a season left to win three games, the Eagles are starting to get on bowl projections list, as the odds of them winning three more games appear to have improved. The Eagles have yet to appear in a bowl game under Jeff Hafley after declining a bowl in 2020, pulling out of the Military Bowl against ECU in '21 because of a COVID outbreak, and failing to qualify for a bowl last season. The Eales have not won a bowl game since 2016 when they won the Quick Lane Bowl against Maryland.

Here are some of the latest projections from around the sports world:

Mark Schlabach: Military Bowl vs. Memphis

Kyle Bonagura: N/A

Thoughts: The Tigers have been an impressive offensive team this season, averaging 36.1 points per game, and their only loss coming a close defeat to SEC foe Missouri. Would be a nice return for the team back to the bowl game they never got to play.

Fenway: Boston College vs. Rice

Thoughts: Pretty skeptical that Boston College would be picked for a Boston based bowl right now, especially with the program lacking any buzz. Now if Thomas Castellanos continues to drum up some interest and gets the team some national buzz, that could change. Given where they are right now, I imagine that Fenway would want an ACC team from somewhere else. Rice, led by 4x transfer JT Daniels has a solid win against Houston, got housed by Texas, and just lost to UConn this weekend giving the Huskies their first victory of the season.

Fenway: Boston College vs. South Florida

Thoughts: South Florida held Alabama to just 17 points just a few weeks ago, but got hammered in their last game against UAB. Not a team with a lot of buzz that would get the fan base excited, but still it's a bowl game.
