Boylesports renews Grand National sponsorship for further three years

Bookmaking company BoyleSports has renewed its sponsorship of the Irish Grand National for another three years, taking its association with the Fairyhouse event Ireland’s to 13 years.

Horse Racing Ireland has also announced that BoyleSports will add Leopardstown to its sponsorship portfolio by becoming 'official betting partner' to the Summer Series at Leopardstown which encompasses nine race meetings from May to August. BoyleSports has also further committed to Irish racing by sponsoring the Grade 3 Joe Mac Novice Hurdle at Tipperary Racecourse on Super Sunday and the Grade 2 Webster Cup Chase at Navan Racecourse.

The announcement was made as the racing and bookmaking industries have been very vocal opposing the Government’s Gambling Regulation Bill 2022 in the final stage of the legislative process.

This new deal ensures that the iconic Irish Grand National will be the richest race on the Irish National Hunt calendar in 2024, with a prize fund of €500,000. As principal partner of the Fairyhouse Easter Festival, BoyleSports will also sponsor two additional races over Easter weekend.

The Summer Series at Leopardstown, which encompasses the popular Bulmers Live at Leopardstown Festival, attracts thousands of racegoers to the Dublin racetrack to enjoy a summer’s evening of racing and music, with acts like The Human League, Happy Mondays and Eurovision representatives Wild Youth all having previously performed there.

Under the new agreement, BoyleSports as exclusive betting partner, will sponsor racing at all nine meetings.

BoyleSports CEO Vlad Kaltenieks and HRI Racecourses CEO, Paul Dermody, were at Leopardstown Racecourse to make the announcement.

Vlad Kaltenieks said: “We are delighted to continue our sponsorship of the BoyleSports Irish Grand National – a race that over the years has produced some dramatic and thrilling finishes and we’ve no doubt will deliver again this year and beyond.

“The horse racing industry is constantly evolving, but one thing remains unwavering, and that is our absolute commitment to supporting Irish racing – a sentiment that is shared with our partners Horse Racing Ireland Racecourses.

“And with our new extended sponsorship as official betting partner to the Summer Series, we look forward to switching from a thrilling Easter Festival at Fairyhouse to a cracking summer of racing and entertainment at Leopardstown”.

Dunboyne man Dermody said: “BoyleSports have been a valued sponsor at Fairyhouse Racecourse since 2014 and this agreement to extend the partnership to the other HRI Racecourses –Leopardstown, Tipperary and Navan – is a strong endorsement of the relationship between the brand and the racecourses. Partnering with Irish racing continues to deliver significant commercial opportunities and value to brands and we look forward to supporting BoyleSports in the activation of this agreement.”
