Brasileirão Matchday 10 Roundup

The Brasileirão reached its first ten games of the season, but the expectations of the fans grow every day with the big games that have been recorded in this edition.

Botafogo and Palmeiras remain at the top of the table, while Flamengo, Atlético Mineiro, and Fluminense try to reach the leaders, remaining in the group of the 5 best teams in the Brasilian Serie A.

At the bottom of the table, Vasco and Coritiba are disappointing their fans, since, together, they won only 1 match. Corinthians is ranked 16th in the league, being the first team outside the relegation zone. This is terrible for the Coringão, who was fighting for the title until mid-season last year.

See the results and find out all the most important things that happened in the 10th round of the Brasileirão below.

  1. Coritiba 0 – 0 Santos;

Where can I watch it?

Botafogo received the indigestible Fortaleza at home but did not give their opponent chances to play their game. Coach Luís Castro’s team was effective, took advantage of their chances, and won by 2-0.

Striker Tiquinho Soares, who was doubtful for the game, recovered quickly and managed to start the game as the team’s starter. He was responsible for scoring the two goals of the match, keeping O Fogo in the lead and leaving the fans full of hope.

So far, their campaign has been very positive: in 10 games, they managed to win 8 and lost only two. I haven’t seen such a good start for many years. Recent investments and the organization brought about by the new board seem to have been crucial for the moment the club is experiencing today.

When:

Sunday, June 11th

Internacional opened the scoring at 3′ of the first half, imposing great difficulty on Vasco, who haven’t won for many games. The team from Porto Alegre is also not living the best of its moments, but it has now gone 3 games without losing, moving up a few positions in the table at each round.

Rômulo and Wanderson scored the goals in the first half, while Rayan reduced the score for Vasco before the 30th minute. In the second half, what was seen was the Cruz Maltese team seeking the equalizer at any cost, creating chances, but without efficiency to materialize the opportunities.

At the end of the game, Internacional left with the 3 points, having managed to withstand the pressure and increase the opponent’s crisis.

Where Can I Watch?

Those who only saw the result of Flamengo vs. Grêmio would be surprised to see the number of chances that the visitors created. This was one of the busiest games of the round, given the offensiveness of both teams and the way their coaches work.

Jorge Sampaoli and Renato Gaúcho set up their teams for the attack, providing great finishing moments, beautiful plays, and tactical organization. Former Barcelona striker Luís Suárez created many chances for his teammates and himself, and the only reason he didn’t score was that he was denied by the opponent’s crossbar in one of his shots.

Pedro, Cebolinha, and Bruno Henrique scored Flamengo’s goals, but Gerson was one of the best players in the match, as he contributed many passes and managed the team’s rhythm throughout the game.

Goalkeeper Matheus Cunha also stood out, as he made numerous saves, fulfilling an almost impossible mission to keep the goal inviolable against Grêmio.
