Breaking down FSU vs. Georgia Tech: Offense, defense, score prediction

FSU football is off its second bye and is looking to win against Georgia Tech. The Seminoles are 23-point favorites. GeorgiaTech is 3-4 and 2-2 in the ACC. FSU has lost to Georgiatech twice in recent years. Robert Binion of From the Rumble Seat is a guest on this week's episode of the Line of Scrimmage podcast. He talks about Georgia tech's new life after firing head coach Geoff Collins and the quarterback situation.

Georgia Tech was 1-3 and fired their head coach Geoff Collins on September 26th. Assistant Brent Key took over and the team won 2-1 in their next 3 games. Robert believes that the current coaching staff is better than the previous one.  Robert believes Collins was in over his head and his estimation of himself and coaching abilities were out of touch with reality.

Jeff Sims is injured and probably won't play this weekend. Georgia Tech needs him to be 100% for the game against Florida State. Florida and Georgia State are going to play each other on Saturday.

Hassan Hall has been getting more carries for Georgia Tech than Dontae Smith. Smith was the presumed lead back coming into the season, but he's been struggling recently. He's doing what he needs to do to get back in the good graces of the coaching staff.

Nate McCollum is the team leader in receiving. Malachi Carter, EJ Jenkins and Leo Blackburn are the other receivers. Florida State plays Georgia Tech on Saturday. The game is a toss-up. It's a game of football. FSU won the last time the game. Georgia State won because of the play of Nate McColum. Florida Tech won on the basis of play-off win. They lost because the player they were playing against broke his wrist.

The offensive line is not a strength for Florida State. The pressure rate allowed is low and the line allows a lot of run stuffs. Without Sims running threat, the offensive lineman look like they did against Virginia.

Georgia Tech's defensive line is very good. Senior Keion White leads the team in sacks. Sylvain Yondjouen is a third-year player who has been injured a lot this season. The defensive tackle position is also good, but the other end spot is not. Georgia Tech and Florida State are playing each other on Saturday.

Ayinde Eley and Charlie Thomas were starters last year but they both struggled with missed tackles. This year they are both effective in rushing the passer. The secondary is much better after losing Collins. The corners are solid. FSU and Georgia Tech are playing each other on Saturday. Georgia Georgia is the defending national champion. It's a game of football. Florida State is going to win.

Georgia Tech is going to beat Florida State 16-13. The game is the first since Mike Norvell's debut at FSU. The team needs to score at least two defensive or special teams touchdowns to win. There is a 10-15% chance of a Tech win, which is similar to the last time I predicted a Pitt win 35-7.
