Brewers vs. Dodgers prediction and odds for Tuesday, Aug. 15 (LA keeps rolling)

In a potential postseason preview, the Brewers will head out west to take on the first place Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Dodgers have been one of the hottest teams in baseball over the past month, and are starting to realize their upside at the plate. Can the team keep humming at the dish while they integrate rookie starter Bobby Miller on the mound?

Here are the odds for this battle of first place teams:

The Dodgers are big favorites in this one, and while I'm not advocating to lay such a big price on this one, I see enough of a difference between the two teams to back the Dodgers to win by margin while taking the run line at even money.

Over the last 30 days, only the Braves are hitting better than the Dodgers' blistering .284 mark. Meanwhile, Milwaukee checks in at .245, good for 18th in the big leagues.

Not only do the Dodgers have a pronounced advantage at the plate, but the team should have an edge on the mound, too, with Miller continuing to look comfortable in his rookie season. Across 13 starts, Miller has pitched to a 3.89 ERA, slightly worse than his xERA of 3.76. He has generated plenty of swings and misses and has allowed a ton of soft contact, posting a sub-10% home run to fly ball rate.

Meanwhile, the Dodgers should find answers at the plate against Adrian Houser, who has a 4.38 ERA and walks three batters per nine innings. Los Angeles has the highest walk rate in baseball, and the team is sure to put pressure on the veteran from the start.

I'm going to trust the better team to stay hot and win with ease.
