Brian O'Driscoll reveals winning bet on Ireland's Grand Slam triumph

Brian O'Driscoll had hundreds of reasons to celebrate Ireland's Grand Slam triumph.

The former Ireland centre placed €150 at 7/2 on Ireland to do the 6 Nations clean sweep in February and their victory over England today made him €525.

A Grand Slam winner in 2009, the 39-year-old shared his betting slip on Instagram along with the caption, which included a shamrock emoji, stating : "Drinks are on me!!!”

He had the flutter with Paddy Power and a spokesperson for the bookies said: "The last time Ireland won the Grand Slam, BOD was the man lifting the trophy, so we are thrilled that he had a little flutter with Paddy Power.

"It’s clear he had huge confidence in the Irish squad rubbing England’s noses in it at Twickenham today, and we’re delighted that he’s enjoying rubbing ours in it too after he took great pleasure in posting an image of his winning bet online.”

Paddy Power paid out early on all bets placed on Ireland to secure the 2018 Grand Slam and the Triple Crown on Friday – and BOD appeared just as confident.
