Brisbane and Storm reject Brodie Croft is being courted by NRL clubs. The former Broncos halfback is currently playing for Salford in the English Super League. Andrew Johns had said CroFT would never play in Australia again. Cro FT is contracted to Saltord until the end of next year. He hasn't ruled out a return to the NRL.

Queensland Rugby League proposes a new, FA Cup-style tournament. It would be a cross-border competition between Queensland and NSW Cups. The proposed format is similar to the Challenge Cup in English rugby league. It is not clear if the original NRL reserve-grade concept will proceed. Bruce Hatcher is exploring other options.
