Broncos' Sean Payton takes aim at NFL's gambling policy after Eyioma Uwazurike suspension: 'Shame on us'

The NFL's gambling policy has become a major spot of focus this offseason, with Broncos defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike becoming the 10th player since April to incur a major suspension on Monday.

Uwazurike was suspended indefinitely by the NFL for betting on NFL games in 2022, according to the league. Uwazurike cannot be reinstated before July 2024.

"We were informed by the NFL that Eyioma Uwazurike has been suspended by the league indefinitely for violating its gambling policy," the Broncos said of the suspension in a statement. "Our organization fully cooperated with this investigation and takes matters pertaining to the integrity of the game very seriously.''
