Brownlow betting scandal: How NBA, NFL, cricket, soccer, tennis, golf award their MVP awards

The NBA's Most Valuable Player is voted on by a panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters across the USA and Canada. The 2021-22 MVP award was won by the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic with 875 points. Joel Embiid (706 points), Giannis Antetokounmpo (595 points) and the Milwaukee Bucks” (541 points).

Allan Border Medal and Belinda Clark Medal are awarded to Australia's best cricketers. The Allan Border medal is voted for by the players, umpires, match referees and media. Belinda Clark Award is awarded for the best women's international criceter.

Dally M is the NRL's best-and-fairest player award. It is similar to the Brownlow Medal, but there are differences between the two awards. In the DallyM, a player can be suspended for more than one match and still win the award, whereas in the brownlow, players who are suspended more times are ineligible.

Aaron Rodgers won the award for the second time with 39 votes. Tom Brady came second with 10 votes, as usual. The award is run by the Associated Press. The panel of 50 sportswriters votes on one player each week between the season ending and the play-offs starting.

The Greg Norman Medal is Australia's most prestigious golf award. The recipient can be either male or female. It is determined by a panel of five judges at the end of each year. Ian Baker-Finch and Jason Day have won the award twice.

The Newcombe Medal is awarded annually since 2010 to Australia’s most outstanding elite tennis player and ambassador for the sport.
