In the first round, which will take place on Sunday, July 23, the newly promoted Lausanne Sport will compete against the team that won the Swiss Super League last season. Both teams enter Stadion Wankdorf riding high after victories in recent friendly matches, one against Nice and the other against Thun.

Young Boys - ready to defend their title

Last season, the home team had a fantastic run, winning the league for the fifth time in six years and the Swiss Cup for the first time since the 2019-20 season. Sene, who has scored in all three friendlies he has played in since his arrival, is set to start up front for Lausanne. Noe Dussenne is another intriguing newcomer who has joined the team. He comes from Standard Liege, where he was a standout defender who contributed five goals for the Belgian club in the previous campaign.
