Burn City Best Bets: Diamondbacks NLCS Odds
As of right now the Arizona Diamondbacks are unsure who they will see next, and the books are already counting them out. The Diamondbacks are no stranger to being the underdogs. Arizona just swept the Dodgers, who some stated, was the best team in baseball. Everyone thought that series would go the other way. The Diamondbacks have taken on the slogan “Embrace the Chaos” and for good reason.
The Phillies and the Braves have yet to conclude their series, with the Phillies leading 2-1. Arizona has already taken care of business and the disrespect the Diamondbacks are receiving is, in my opinion, unjustifiable. The Diamondbacks just swept a 100 win team, as a franchise that is supposed to be in a rebuild.
Phillies Headline National League Winner Odds at +125
Philadelphia has the best odds to win the National League and advance to the world series. I am taking the Diamondbacks to win the National League at +140. When you have a mixture of young talent that is hitting the ball extremely well, and a bullpen that has a ton of momentum, how can you not ride with them? As of right now, the ending to the NLCS with the best odds with Philly beating Arizona at +125.
Harper Comes out as the Favorite to win NLCS MVP
Bryce Harper carries the best odds to win the NLCS MVP at +600. The rest of the top five also features two other Phillies, Turner (+1200) and Schwarber (+1300). Corbin Carroll was the only Diamondback to get a mention in the top five as far as NLCS MVP odds go, coming in at second (+800). Walker, Marte, Pham, and Gallen are in the top 10 odds also. Looking purely at what they have done so far in the post season, I love Corbin Carroll here. If the Diamondbacks can carry all of this momentum into the next series, and continue playing well, they’re my bet to represent the National league.
