Can Gonzaga Finally Win It All?

The 2023 March Madness is taking place in March. There is no buzz around college basketball as the season doesn't start for a few months. Many players entered or withdrew from the NBA draft, while others transferred to a new school.

Gonzaga is the 2023 March Madness favorite at Bovada. Gonzaga has been close to winning the National Championship before, but they haven't closed the deal.

North Carolina won the National Championship in 2022. They lost the first half of the game by three points. North Carolina will be without Brady Manek, but they have a dominant starting lineup. Pete Nance is a similar player to Maneks.

The top March Madness betting sites aren't offering value for North Carolina like last year.

Creighton should open the season top 10 in the AP Poll. Baylor Scheierman gives Creighton a big boost. Tennessee is without Kennedy Chandler, but the rest of their roster looks strong. Texas landed the best transfer in Marcus Carr and Iowa State transfer Tyrese Hunter. Texas also landed a pair of five-star recruits, including No. 5 overall Dillon Mitchell.

Julian Phillips is a smooth, lanky, athlete who shines in the open floor and has some interesting upside as a scorer. He's a good prospect and I hope Rick Barnes allows him to flourish at Tennessee this season.

San Diego State's dominant defense allowed the second-fewest points last season. Matt Bradley returns after leading San Diego with 16.9 points per game. Seattle transfer Darrion Trammell averaged 17.3 points and 5.0 assists last year. Dayton had an elite defense last term but their offense ranked outside the top 200. They had one of the youngest rosters in college basketball last time.

Gonzaga has the upper hand in the 2022-23 college basketball season. North Carolina fell short last season, but they return four starters from last year’s team and Pete Nance fills the void left by Brady Manek.
