Canada & Soccer: The FIFA World Cup is coming

Canada is set to play at their first World Cup finals in 36 years in 2022 in Qatar. They have only once in their history made it through to the group stages of the tournament and that was during the 1986 competition in Mexico. Highlights in the history of Canada's national team include success in 1985 and 2002 CONCACAF Championship/Gold Cup and the Summer Olympics in 1904.

Canada finished top of the CONCACAF qualifying group for the 2022 World Cup. They won eight of their 14 matches, drew four and lost just twice. Mexico and the United States will join them in Qatar. Canada is coached by John Herdman and they are currently priced at 250/1 in the outright betting markets. Their opening game is against Belgium on November 27th.

Canada is ranked 43rd in the FIFA World rankings. They are preparing for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Les Rouges are next in action when they take on Qatar on September 23 and then take up Uruguay four days later.
